
IMO Maritime Safety Committee 106th Session - Electronic inclinometer
The 106th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Maritime Safety Committee was held from November 2 to 11, 2022. The meeting focused on reviewing amendments to mandatory documents, developing MASS ship target-type documents, and related subcommittee work reports and plans.
The meeting called for improved acquisition of ship motion status information and approved amendments to Chapter V of SOLAS, mandating that container ships and bulk carriers of 3000 gross tonnage and above be equipped with electronic inclinometers, effective January 1, 2026.
Dalian Haien Gebhard Electrical Apparatus Co., Ltd., designed and produced electronic inclinometers, the first domestic product to obtain CCS type approval and product certification. This pioneering product has achieved a first-mover advantage in the industry and has been highly recognized by customers in the market, with more than 20 sets sold to date. With the IMO's regulatory requirements, explosive sales growth is expected in the coming years.
