Hubei-made equipment aids 'wind power generation'; China's latest generation of offshore wind power installation platform delivered
On November 16, China Shipbuilding Wuhan Marine Machinery Co., Ltd.'s newly built self-elevating offshore wind power installation platform, "Huaxi 1600", a 1600-ton self-elevating offshore wind power installation platform, was successfully delivered in Qingdao.
The Huaxi Marine Engineering 1600T wind power installation platform is currently the domestic platform with the largest operating water depth, the strongest offshore construction capabilities, the most comprehensive functions, and the highest efficiency among the truss-type leg wind power installation platforms.
The platform's hull is 136 meters long, with a maximum operating water depth of 70 meters, and a deck working area equivalent to 11 basketball courts. Its main crane is a 1600-ton revolving crane, one of the domestic wind power installation platforms with the highest main crane height. With the help of four legs, the platform can complete the transition from floating on the sea surface to standing at a water depth of 70 meters in about three hours, making it the fastest lifting platform in China currently.
Relevant personnel from Wuhan Shipbuilding Machinery introduced that Wuhan Shipbuilding Machinery is the company with the largest number of self-elevating auxiliary platforms built and delivered domestically. The construction of this platform started on June 30, 2022. The platform has a high degree of informationization and automation, a high rate of domestic equipment, and good safety in deep-sea and far-sea operations. It can fully cover the construction requirements of currently under-construction and planned wind farms in China and is considered a mainstream construction vessel type for offshore wind power construction in the next 5 to 10 years.
