On March 22, the 190,000-ton dual-fuel bulk carrier "Yu Yi", built by Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Shipbuilding Group Corporation, for Evergreen Marine Corporation, was named and delivered. The electrical control system for the vessel's new energy dual-fuel refueling system was provided by Dalian Haien Gebhard Electrical Apparatus Co., Ltd. This is the sixth vessel in a series of twelve. Dalian Haien's high-quality products and services provided strong technical support and assurance for the shipyard, the ship owner, and especially the main contractor, Guohong. In a welcoming speech, the ship owner expressed sincere gratitude for the strong support and cooperation of all partners and expressed heartfelt thanks to the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council for their concern for cross-strait maritime and shipbuilding trade exchanges. Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and its partners have forged a solid partnership through close collaboration. Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding will fully leverage its leading advantages in the research and development and construction of green and energy-efficient ship types, and will carry out broader cooperation with Evergreen Marine, a subsidiary of Far Eastern Group, and Anglo American, to make new and greater contributions to deepening cross-strait economic and trade exchanges. The "Yu Yi" is a new generation of dual-fuel powered vessels independently developed by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding with independent intellectual property rights. The series of vessels use MAN B&W 6G70ME-C10.5-GI dual-fuel main engines, meeting IMO Tier IV emission standards in gas mode, and have the notable characteristics of being "green, environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, and safe". Dalian Haien Gebhard Electrical Apparatus Co., Ltd. will assist Guohong Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Dalian) Co., Ltd. in maintaining its leading edge in the research and development and construction of green and energy-efficient ship types and maintaining its leading position during the golden period of new energy shipbuilding in the next 5-10 years. Dalian Haien Gebhard Electrical Apparatus Co., Ltd. will work with Guohong to make significant contributions to the rapid development of China's new energy shipbuilding industry.

Lai Zhou offshore wind power and integrated development research and pilot project grid-connected power generation

On December 24, 2023, the Laizhou Offshore Wind Power and Marine Ranch Integrated Development Research and Experiment Project successfully achieved grid connection of all 38 wind turbines, marking the successful completion of full-capacity grid connection for the nation's first offshore wind power and marine ranch integrated development research and experiment project. The Laizhou Offshore Wind Power and Marine Ranch Integrated Development Research and Experiment Project is located in the national-level marine ranch demonstration area west of Furong Island in Tushan Town, Laizhou City, Yantai City, Shandong Province. It is the nation's first offshore wind power and marine ranch integrated development research and experiment project jointly invested and constructed by China General Nuclear Power Group and Shandong Chengyuan Group. It is also a key project for incremental mixed-ownership reform in the new energy sector approved by the National Development and Reform Commission and the National Energy Administration. The EPC general contracting was undertaken by China Power Construction South China Institute. The project has a planned area of 48 square kilometers, an installed capacity of 304 MW, a total investment of 3.3 billion yuan, and 38 sets of 8MW domestically advanced high-power and high-efficiency wind turbine units, along with a newly built 220kV onshore substation. The first wind turbine was installed on September 21, 2023, the overhead lines were completed on November 5, 2023, the onshore substation was energized on November 25, 2023, all wind turbines were installed on December 5, 2023, and all submarine cables were laid on December 20, 2023. Today, the project has achieved full-capacity grid connection, creating a domestic offshore wind power project with the lowest cost and shortest construction period. The project can achieve an annual power generation of 1 billion kWh. Compared with conventional coal-fired power plants, it can save about 300,000 tons of standard coal annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 780,000 tons, sulfur dioxide emissions by about 5,700 tons, and nitrogen oxide emissions by about 8,500 tons. The project practices the concept of "blue energy + offshore granary" for new and old kinetic energy conversion and high-quality development, contributing to the achievement of "dual carbon" goals and providing a replicable and promotable new model for the integrated development of offshore wind power and marine ranches for Shandong and the whole country. Dalian Haien Gebhard Electrical Apparatus Co., Ltd. provided the fog horn obstacle light system and power distribution system for this project, providing a strong guarantee for the safe, stable, and reliable operation of the project.

Our city's landscape lighting upgrade project, based on the concept of "Green Electricity Illuminates Dalian" and aiming for "First-class in China, Dalian Characteristics," uses high-efficiency lighting fixtures combined with energy storage systems to reduce traditional energy consumption. Through renewable energy consumption and off-peak power utilization, the project achieves green energy supply and cost savings for landscape lighting. This aligns with the national strategy of green energy and low-carbon development while also supporting Dalian's goals of enhancing nighttime landscapes and activating its night-time economy. Based on the concept of "Green Electricity Illuminates Dalian," the landscape lighting upgrade project combines high-efficiency, intelligent floodlighting fixtures with digital control. It utilizes photovoltaic power generation and vanadium flow battery energy storage technology, maximizing the use of green energy for landscape lighting and saving electricity costs through renewable energy consumption and off-peak power utilization. Energy storage facilities have been completed in the Donggang and Xinghai areas. Dalian Haien Gebhard Electrical Apparatus Co., Ltd. provided the matching Tpower601 electrical control system for this battery energy storage system and developed the Tpower-ADIO and Tpower-MCU embedded systems, ensuring the safe, stable, reliable, and cost-effective operation of the entire system.

IMO Maritime Safety Committee 106th Session - Electronic inclinometer

The 106th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Maritime Safety Committee was held from November 2 to 11, 2022. The meeting focused on reviewing amendments to mandatory documents, developing MASS ship target-type documents, reports and work plans of relevant sub-committees, etc. The meeting called for improved acquisition of ship motion status information and approved amendments to Chapter V of SOLAS, mandating that container ships and bulk carriers of 3,000 gross tonnage and above be equipped with electronic inclinometers, effective January 1, 2026. Dalian Haien Gebhard Electrical Apparatus Co., Ltd., designed and produced electronic inclinometers, which are the first domestically-produced products to obtain CCS type approval and product certification. This has given the company a first-mover advantage in the industry and its products have been highly recognized by customers in the market. More than 20 sets have been sold to date. With the IMO's regulatory requirements, explosive sales growth is expected in the coming years. On October 29, China Power Construction Central South Institute undertook the Shandong Energy Bozhong Offshore Wind Power A site project, generating the first unit of "green electricity" in the nationwide offshore wind power parity era. This project is the first offshore wind power project in Shandong Province to be approved and commence construction under the grid parity policy. With a total investment of 6.685 billion yuan and a total installed capacity of 501 megawatts, it includes the construction of a domestically produced offshore substation. It installs 8.35-megawatt wind turbines, which have the longest blades and the largest single-unit capacity in the northern region. It achieves the first crossover of sea cables and oil and gas pipelines. It is the largest single-unit, one-time constructed intelligent and digital wind farm in China, achieving the integrated development of new energy with the ocean and the Yellow River Basin ecological environment. Annually, it can provide 1.698 billion kWh of green electricity, save 519,000 tons of standard coal, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.2577 million tons.
