The 106th session of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Maritime Safety Committee was held from November 2 to 11, 2022. The meeting focused on reviewing amendments to mandatory documents, developing MASS ship target-type documents, reports and work plans of relevant sub-committees, etc. The meeting called for improved acquisition of ship motion status information and approved amendments to Chapter V of SOLAS, mandating that container ships and bulk carriers of 3,000 gross tonnage and above be equipped with electronic inclinometers, effective January 1, 2026.
